New York City - which has been gripped by weeks of protests that has seen stores looted, fireworks set off, statues daubed with paint and rising crime including shootings - has voted to slash $1billion from the NYPD budget.

Croydon's in debt ... and we're all paying

London Councils are owed a total £642 million in council tax arrears - an average of £188 per household. Six percent of that total is owed to Croydon Council, who have – amazingly – slightly reduced the amount owing in the last year!!! I suppose we long-suffering tax-payers should be grateful, but the £40m outstanding adds about £271 to all our individual bills. Mandelson's bid to stifle EU referendum

Will the House of Lord kill off any chance of us having a vote on Europe?   I hope not, because nothing would give us a stronger platform to reform the whole bloated undemocratic mess that’s slowing strangling us. But how sickening to see the oily peer, ‘Lord’ Mandelson – a former EU Commissioner due to collect an EU pension, trying to kill off the referendum bill. He says a vote would be undemocratic!   He and a clutch of Labour peers are out to kill off Tory peer Lord Dobbs’ bill.   Dobbs, of course, says the referendum is actually ALL "about democracy". Scandalously, Mandelson says a referendum would be a "lottery".
