Public sector workers - £2.7 billion in pay-offs in a single year

It’s unbelievable, but but we have paid out £2.7 billion to public sector workers in pay-offs in the last year.

A Treasury spokesman claimed that,“In the civil service alone, job reductions have contributed to workforce savings of £2.2 billion in the last financial year.”

But nearly 3,500 staff received compensation packages worth more than £100,000, and more than 14,000 were awarded “golden goodbyes” of between £50,000 and £100,000.

Question is, how many then were recycled into other parts of the state apparatus?
